Namisindwa parish chief arrested over allegations of stealing sack of beans

Police in Namisindwa is holding two people, one of the a parish chief, for allegedly stealing a sack of beans meant for landslide victims.
The suspects are Maiki Martin Waninda, the Parish Chief of Bumatanda Parish and Kimanayi Lameka, a resident of Bumatanda village in Bukhabusi sub county in Namisidwa District.
The duo was arrested yesterday by the Bukhabusi sub county residents after it was discovered that one bag of beans meant to be distributed to landslide victims was missing.
Rukia Khainza, the Officer in charge Bukhabusi Police Post confirmed the arrest of the two suspects saying that they have been charged with theft and awaiting to be arraigned in the courts of law.
