President Museveni says Uganda is ready for more joint projects with the Democratic Republic of Congo that will help benefit citizens of both countries.
President Museveni made the remarks yesterday afternoon as he, and his DRC counterpart, Felix Tshisekedi commissioned the construction of roads to connect the two countries, a commissioning function held at the border town of Mpondwe in Kasese.
Uganda is set to construct 223km of roads inside the Democratic Republic of Congo to a tune of Shs243.7 billion.
Museveni applauded Tshisekedi for coming with an open heart that he said will ensure development of both countries, but also the East African region at large.
Museveni also saluted his DRC counterpart for ensuring his country joins the East African Community where it was naturally supposed to belong.
In response, DRC president Tshisekedi said the road project will help ensure the socio-economic wellbeing of the people from both countries.
