Gomba Catholic priest’s prime suspect probed for another murder case in Kalungu

The prime suspect in the murder of a Catholic Church Priest in Gomba District, Vincent Katumba is facing another probe for another murder in Kalungu District.
Katumba 36, is currently being detained at Mpigi Police Station after he stabbed and killed Rev. Fr Josephat Kasambula on August 18, as he attempted to evict him from his house and land at Kikunyu Village, Kyegonza Sub County in Gomba District.
According to the Police Criminal Investigations Directorate- CID mouthpiece, Charles Twine, the police have preferred charges of grievous harm against Katumba, for injuring arresting officers, however, another murder case against him is being investigated, adding that the suspect allegedly killed a person in Kalungu and returned to Gomba
Twine said that Katumba will be arraigned in courts of law as soon as investigations are completed.
Katonga Police Regional Spokesperson, Lydia Tumushabe says that the matter was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Directorate at Kibuli for further management.
