Residents of Kyengando Parish, Engari Sub County, Kazo District are expressing dismay, over the move to shift their government granted health centre to the sub county headquarters.
Speaking to our reporter, yesterday, Kyengando residents said Kyengando Health Centre II was granted by the Health Ministry and is planning to upgrade it to Kyengando Health Centre III, however, the sub county officials are in a move to shift it to the headquarters, arguing that there is insufficient land to accommodate the upgraded facility.
Residents and local leaders in Kyengando have therefore refuted the claims, saying the land they have is enough for the exercise of upgrading the facility.
When contacted for a comment, Kazo District Health Officer, Dr. Tweheyo Samuel Kiroha said the ministry’s interest is in the availability of land, with evidence, hence asking the petitioners to show them the land with tangible evidence.
