Kazo VHT members get their COVID-19 risk allowances

Kazo District Village Health Team-VHT members have finally started receiving their risk allowances for fighting COVID-19.
A total of UShs 138m was allocated to facilitate the VHT’s and village COVID-19 taskforce in Kazo district, according to the District Health Officer, Dr Tweheyo Samuel Kiroha and ministerial guidelines.
Each village should get Shs.300,000 for the VHT’s and 100,000 for the Village COVID-19 taskforce to conduct community mobilization.
The distribution of allowances started with the VHT’s from Kazo town council and Kazo Sub County in Kazo district.
Some members who received the money thanked the government for considering them, however, others express discontent saying the Ushs. 300,000 was meant for only two VHT’s where each should take 150,000/=.
